The Origin

Long ago, the gods known today as mere myths, once lived their prideful lives known throughout the prosperous country of Greece. The names of these powerful gods were spread to preach far and wide, collecting followers left and right. People, mere humans, feared and worshipped their names as they sought protection and prosperity from the gods.

One of them, the most powerful one in their midst, was Zeus. Known to be the ruler of both the gods and humans, with power that held greater regard than any other, and the ability to cater and control the skies—Zeus was the king of all. Although having such remarkable features, one flaw this god had was being an unfaithful partner to his envious wife, Hera. Not only did he have six after her, but even came down to the lands of human in pursuit of handing over some of his ability to his people, hoping they’d grow to become faithful heroes.

Zeus while on his escapade, somehow stumbled upon a fair maiden, with looks that could catch any wandering eye. In disguise as a noble, the god courted the stunning lady, Aaliyah, promising her his eternal love and support as long as she accepts to bear his children. However, soon after giving birth to their first baby boy, Aaliyah noticed her son glow in specs of yellow, blue and a blinding white. She couldn’t help but question Zeus for such matter, and so, he revealed his true being to the lady. Blinded by love, Aaliyah accepted this fact and continued to follow Zeus’ every request.

Years after, Aaliyah had already given birth to two more of Zeus’ children, each blessed with the gift to control elements of the sky. However, only one—the eldest, Alvis—had the ability to control lightning and thunder, the power his father was known to be the most prideful of. Zeus and Aaliyah, along with their children lived their lives quite peacefully, not until Hera had found out about their relationship.

Not long after, Zeus had stopped coming by to visit Aaliyah and the kids. He promised he’d protect them by never coming back, which was true as the children were able to grow older and were now fine adults. From oldest to youngest, the three of them had now lived their lives fruitfully and responsibly as they have been raised by a kind-hearted mother.

Alvis, had the pleasure to be with another demi-god. Audrey, his wife, was a descendant of Athena. They both had tried to keep their identities hidden, blending in with mere humans as they could get in danger and get hunted. But, despite being in hiding, the couple’s love had bore fruit into twins which inherited their godly features.

Blitz, the girl, had the slight control of manifesting lightning at age five. Bolt, the boy, had the skills of a warrior discovered at the early age of four. Although they were better at some aspects of their own abilities, the two of them actually had inherited both of their parent’s godly powers. With this, their parents taught them to help each other improve in their lacking aspects. Blitz had to help with Bolt’s control of the skies and Bolt had to help with Blitz combat skills. With such hard training their bond grew deeper as they helped each other grow. As such, the twins were inseparable, hand in hand wherever they went to. Life was hard for training and hiding as a demi-god for the twins, however, they never expected it to get even harder.

On the twins’ 17th birthday, Zeus broke his promise and came down to visit his son’s family to celebrate his grandchildren‘s day. This immediately enraged Hera, which lead to jealousy and an order for her followers to hunt down Alvis and Audrey’s entire family. News got out quick and soon enough, the family was now at claw’s reach. Even though their parents were both demi gods, there was always an unspoken rule between them to never injure humans. Hera knew of this rule which lead the family to have no other choice but to accept their demise. However, Alvis and Audrey were quick minded enough to save their children.

Trapping the souls of both Bolt and Blitz, the two slowly had their heartbeats taken away from them to keep it safe. They were both laid in their beds as screams of raging humans grew closer. Alvis and Audrey both sat beside the twins’ bed, with their hands each placed on their children’s chest.

“This will hurt but you two are going to be safe,” hushed their father. “Avenge us our sweet thunderstorms,” added their mother with tears staining her cheeks. “We will be waiting. We love you both so much,” Alvis and Audrey said in a unified voice.

Soon enough, blinding lights came from both Bolt and Blitz’s chest, signifying the doom for them and their family. The raging humans outside couldn’t go in as they were taken aback for a lightning bolt striked directly at the family’s house.

This end indicated that the twins were indeed not dead yet. However, being trapped somewhere, anywhere, nowhere, their souls wandered in the vast void, searching for ways to return and have their last merciless laugh of revenge.

But will they ever come back? Will they ever get the chance to fulfill their parents wish of revenge? Will the lost warriors of lightning ever be found?
